2. Filming:

As you are probably aware, Richard Pryor has suffered from Multiple Sclerosis since 1990. This is a debilitating disease that makes it impossible for Richard to travel to Edinburgh to view the short-listed shows.

To enable Richard Pryor to judge, it has therefore been decided that all entered shows will be filmed in a non broadcast capacity. The Richard Pryor Award will make no claim of ownership to these tapes, and they will be viewed only by the judges and ultimately by Richard Pryor himself.

3. Show dates:

The performer's show must fall between Wednesday the 4th August and Saturday 14th August.

Preview performances, which take place the week before the festival, run from the 4th to 7th of August. These will be viewed if the comedian does not have a show taking place in the first week but wishes to enter the award.

4. Running times:

The show must have a running time of at least 30 minutes.
